Damage Types

All damage is part of a damage type. If you know the type of damage a skill deals, you’ll know which defenses and damage increases/decreases will affect it.

Main Types

The damage a skill deals can be either physical or affliction.

Physical damage:
Physical damage is generally dealt by melee and ranged skills. Physical damage can be affected by defense, limit defense, and protectors.

Affliction damage:
Affliction damage is generally dealt by afflictions. Affliction damage is not affected by defense, limit defense, and protectors.




Extension Types

Extension Types are optional, and further describe special properties of the damage a skill deals. A single damage can have multiple Extension Types.

Piercing (physical damage):
If the phyiscal damage is piercing, it will not be affected by defense and limit defense, but it will still be affected by protectors.

True (physical damage):
If the phyiscal damage is true, it will be affected by defense, limit defense, and protectors on the target, but it won't be possible to increase or decrease the damage in any other way.

Leeching (physical/affliction damage):
If the phyiscal or affliction damage is leeching, it will restore health on the performing character for the same amount it deals damage.
