Duration

Durations can be decreased at the end of both your own and the enemy's turn. When an effect's duration is decreased, depends on whether the effect is considered useful. Examples of effects useful on your turn are damage, healing and allow effects. The durations of these effects are decreased at the end of your turn. Effects useful on the enemy turn are stuns, invulnerabilities and defenses. The durations of these effects are decreased at the end of the enemy's turn.

Durations in Skill Descriptions

The duration of each effect in a skill is mentioned in the skill's descritption. There are several forms for doing this.

No duration:
Duration is not always specified. For effects that are calculated instantly like damage, specifying a duration is not needed.

Enemy : Deal 30 damage.

Sometimes, it is most logical an effect lasts indefinitely. This is often the case with protectors and charges. Although no duration is specified, these effects last indefinitely.

Self : Grant a protector of 25 hit points.

All enemies : Apply 1 Gas Leak charge.

... for X turn(s):
Takes effect starting this turn, and lasts for the stated amount of turns.

Enemy : Stun, and deal 5 affliction damage, for 2 turns.

... for the following X turn(s):
Takes effect starting the following turn, and lasts for the stated amount of turns.

Enemy : Allow Wakizashi Strike, the following turn.

... this turn:
Has effect only during this turn.

All enemies : Increase physical damage taken by 15, this turn.

... indefinitely:
Takes effect starting this turn, and lasts an indefinite amount of turns.

Enemy : Ki affliction: deals 10 affliction damage, indefinitely.

... within X turn(s):
Often used for counter and activate skills. These skills last the specified amount of turns, or until they are activated.

Self : Counter the first enemy melee skill, within 4 turns.
Countered Enemy : Deal 10 physical damage.
When this skill counters, it's on cooldown for 2 turns.

... once:
These skills last until they are activated.

Enemy : Allow Eclipse, once.

… on the X turn:
Takes effect at the start of the specified turn.

Enemy : Kill, on the 4th turn.

… at the end of X turn:
Takes effect at the end of the specified turn.

Enemy : Deal 45 affliction damage, at the end of this turn.
Other random enemy : Deal 45 affliction damage, at the end of the second turn.
Third enemy : Deal 45 affliction damage, at the end of the third turn.
The energy costs of this skill cannot be changed.

... during [skill]:
Lasts until the specified skill ends.

self : Gain , during Sink into the Earth.

… X turn per [condition]:
The amount of turns this skill lasts is determined by the condition.

Other ally : Become immortal, for 1 turn per Atonement charges consumed.
Passive other allies : Grant 1 Atonement charge when attacked, up to 3.
Allies aren't granted charges while affected by Atonement.

… the next time [condition]:
Takes effect when the specified condition is met.

Enemy : Deal 20 true physical damage, the next time the target does not perform a skill.

… until [condition]:
Has effect until the specified condition is met.

Enemy: Ki affliction: deals 15 affliction damage, decreases ranged physical damage by 10, and increases energy costs by , until the target performs a skill.




Durations in Skill Effects

Once an effect has entered the game, the remaining duration is noted in the effect's description.

Indefinite:
This effect's duration does not end.

X turns left:
This effects stays in the game for the stated amount of turns. It's duration will not be decreased this part of the turn.

X turns left (-):
This effects stays in the game for the stated amount of turns. It's duration will be decreased at the end of this turn.

Ends this turn:
This effect is removed at the end of this turn.
